Curriculum Vitae

Kagan Yüksel is a research associate at FCN. He has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bilkent University. During his studies at Bilkent, he worked as a student assistant at the National Nanotechnology Research Centre (UNAM) where he was involved in developing Lithium-air battery technologies. He also has a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, and Computer Engineering from RWTH Aachen University. During his studies at RWTH, he worked as a student assistant in the Institute for Automation of Complex Power Systems (ACS) where he worked in developing blockchain technologies, and in the Institute of High Voltage Equipment and Grids, Digitalisation and Energy Economics (IAEW) where he was involved in developing demand side management technologies and load profile generation algorithms using Machine Learning. He joined FCN in 2023 as a research associate. Using experimental and quantitative analysis, he studies questions in energy economics, with a focus on blockchain technologies, grid-friendly self-sustaining energy communities, and energy market transformation.
