Medium-term forecast for the domestic supply of electricity to end consumers for the calendar years 2023 to 2027

Within the framework of the Renewable Energies Directive, the German transmission grid operators are obliged to prepare and publish an annual forecast on the development of renewable energies. This forecast is used in particular to determine the level of costs that will be incurred in the context of the renewable energy support for the coming years.
Within the framework of this so-called mid-term forecast, two lots are put out to tender. Lot 1 contains the medium-term forecast for the generation of electricity from renewable energy plants in Germany and was investigated for the period 2023-2027 by the Institute for High Voltage Equipment and Grids, Digitalization and Energy Economics (IAEW) at RWTH Aachen University. The Chair for Energy System Economics forecasted the Germany-wide delivery of electricity to end consumers for the calendar years 2023 to 2027 as part of Lot 2.
